Ophthalmologists working in large hospital centres with a significant population of paediatric patients with systemic disease will find The Eye in Pediatric Systemic Disease to be a crucial addition to their armamentarium. This textbook covers the ocular manifestations in all paediatric disease, from haematologic to infectious and from psychiatric to traumatic. Patients are often referred to ophthalmologists with a potential diagnosis. It is then up to us to examine the eyes to see whether the disease’s typical signs are present. This book covers both common and rare paediatric afflictions. After having read the disease’s definition, history, epidemiology, systemic manifestations and ocular manifestations, the reader is likely to be able to adequately respond to the questions posed by the referring physician. This book is intended for paediatric and general ophthalmologists and could be useful for paediatricians who would like to know when to refer to ophthalmologists.
